5 Easy Habits to Add to Your Day
Sometimes people think conscious creation is a lot of work that requires a lot of focus and commitment and perseverance. But it can be so easy – and fun! – to practice vibration management throughout your day with hardly any effort.
Along those lines, here are five simple habits that are easy to add to your day. Pick one, use them all – whatever feels best to you.
This is how easy it is to start an alignment practice that puts you in better reach of your dreams come true. (Because any time we feel better, we become a closer match to what we want, and that’s all conscious creation is: finding ways to feel better first so our cool stuff can manifest!)
1. Leverage the Hand Wash
When you are washing your hands, take a moment to say something nice to yourself. Take advantage of this little break in your day to give yourself some self-encouragement and celebration.
I learned this from Jack Canfield who said he practices self-love by saying something nice to himself eye to eye in the mirror after he brushes his teeth every night. Even something like, “Keep up the great work!” or “Wow, you are having a good hair day!” or “I’m so proud of you.” Just the same way you’d say something encouraging to a loved one – shine that love on your own self. You don’t need a mirror for it – if you’re washing hands in the kitchen, that’s another great time to infuse yourself with some kind and uplifting thoughts. Say something nice to yourself!
2. Upgrade Your Greeting
Instead of greeting everyone with the same, “How are you?” or “How’s it going?” you could switch it up to something that invites higher vibrations, like: “What’s the good news?” or “What’s going well?” or even “What are you looking forward to today?” Sometimes people benefit from a little nudge in a more positive direction. And that makes it easier for you to go there, too, when you’re inviting them along with you by using a better greeting.
My voice mail used to say, “What would you love to see happen today?” It was so fun to listen to those messages! In my own practice, I don’t ask it as a question. Rather, it's more of a request or instruction: “Tell me something good.” Their answer brings them up to speed to be in conversation with me. (And if you think your people can’t handle that kind of positivity, you need one of two things: new people or a new idea about your people.)
3. Use Password Affirmations
If your password doesn’t make you sing every time you type it – it is time for an upgrade! It’s just a little opportunity in the day to reactivate good vibes! Your password should be so good that you get a little bummed when the computer remembers it and you don’t get to type it in. But you can still sing it out loud (if you’re alone) or smile as you remember it and click the login button.
If you use a password manager for most of your logins, pick one you visit regularly to type in just for the vibrational boost it offers.
4. Make a Money Mantra
When you spend money, that is a perfect time to tell Universe how money is for you. Because a lot of folks spend it and have mixed feelings about it, or offer instructions that are contrary to their desire: like thinking after spending this much now I have less money. Or that things are expensive. Or that I shouldn’t be spending this. Or Can I really afford this? Or something else that is not a helpful instruction to universe about how your money should be. Right? Because you want something different than that: you want, “Plenty more where that came from,” or “It comes back multiplied,” or “Gotta flow it to grow it” or something better than, “Now there’s less.”
A lot of us pay bills on autopay, so in that case you could just use the confirmation of the payment or the receipt you get to cue yourself to a good money instruction. “Plenty more where that came from” or “I’m good with money!” or you could do it Mike Dooley style and say, “Wow, it’s a good thing I’m rich!”
5. Plant Uplifting Prayer
Strategically place an inspiring quote or prayer where you'll see it regularly. It could be Ptaah’s morning song or one of your favorite Abraham rampages or an excerpt from your most inspiring teacher or author. Hang it by computer or coffeepot, the toilet or sink, or perhaps the nightstand or microwave or shower – or anywhere you'll see it regularly throughout the day.
And if you'd rather listen than read, you could put it on your phone to listen to when you’re commuting or standing in line for lunch or walking to the parking lot. If you're manifesting money, you might like to post this beauty: Money Meditation.
6. Bask at Bedtime
I know I promised five habits, but here's a bonus practice I'd love for to engage if you're not already doing it …
Abraham says we wake up in the same mood we go to sleep in, so it’s worth setting ourselves up for success the next day by going to sleep with good vibrations. An easy way to do that is just to reflect on your favorite part of the day. What did you like about it? What were the bright spots? What was your favorite moment?
It can be something little, like the way the dog sighs right as she goes to sleep, or the new leaf you spotted on the plant you love so much, or the compliment you got from the stranger, or the way it sprinkled when the sun was still out, or the lunch you had, … or anything pleasant. Just be thinking about the lovely parts of your day as you drift off to sleep. It’s a good setup for tomorrow.
These are easy habits to engage every day that will do wonders for your vibe!
