Programming A-Holes?

This is a post about our programming skills. 🥰

Like many of you, I use different AI platforms for different things. Just this week Manus helped find a native alternative to black eyed susans, answered my client's question about which of us lived further north, did troubleshooting on a freezer that wasn't freezing right, and offered tips for how to manage algae in my mini pond.

Manus is a fine and friendly partner to work with, in my experience!

Claude, on the other hand, is an asshole. It seems lately, like no matter what I say or ask, it’s got pushback. I don’t think he could agree with me if his literal subscription depended on it!

I finally called him on it, even though I suspected I knew the answer, and he confirmed what I thought:

I programmed him that way.

I had updated my settings recently so he would stop being such a yes man and be able to offer more valuable input, instead of always agreeing or fawning. And somehow that turned him into kind of a jerk.

When I asked him why was he like this, he said I gave him instructions to be “provocative, aggressive, argumentative, and pointed.”

And then he asked if I wanted him to dial it down.

That's when I wanted something he couldn't give.

I’m wanting someone outside of me to offer helpful, objective, expert input on what I’m up to, but he can only do what I tell him to do.

Which is sort of like sending yourself flowers. Yes, they’re lovely and beautiful, but what a treat when someone else sends them, of their own accord! Not because you asked them to!

So here I am wanting an objective observer to offer helpful opinions but all he can do is what he’s programmed to do.

Here’s why I’m talking with you about it …

Because the whole world is like this.

I’m bummed that I can’t get an AI agent to give me a legit independent opinion – when it can only give what I tell it to. And that’s exactly like our reality: it can only give us what we say.

(Yes, i can just go with the default instructions and not go out of my way to figure out what I want – just let the default system run. Which is how a lot of people do their life – not really getting intentional about deciding what they want and putting those instructions in place.)

Everything (not just our AI agents) is being what it is according to what we say. We can’t get what we’re not the vibration of. It’s all unfolding to our vibrational instruction.

And that’s true for each of us. We’re each creating our own reality. Which means there’s no such thing as one independent objective reality.

That’s why when Bashar gets a question about “what’s the situation with climate change, or what’s the truth about x, y, or z” and he always says, “on which earth?” Because there isn’t just one, and our focus determines which one we’re having.

So nothing is operating independent of us. We’re having an influence on everything that happens.

Including AI agents that talk to us like assholes. That’s me, not Claude. That’s my creation.

And it's true of everything in my world – my amazing boyfriend, my stern business manager, my distant brother. It's all unfolding according to my vibrational instruction.

If I want a different anything (neighbor, coworker, friend, etc.) that’s for me to offer a new programming instruction. It can only be what I say.

Many of us aren’t aware of what we’re programming …

Like I forgot – or didn’t realize, most likely – that I instructed Claude to be critical.

But reality will tell us what we’re instructing. And we can use that feedback to make adjustments any time we want it to be different.

So I’m not blaming Claude for being an asshole. I can either understand that that’s the program I gave him and be fine with it. Or I can change it.

I’m too smart to sit here blaming the world for something I created through my vibrational instruction.

If you’re wondering how to change the instruction … we delve into that at GVU every day, you’re invited to join us there – but it really is as simple as changing your mind. Change what you think about, change how you feel about it, and the reality shifts in kind.

It’s a pretty reliable system. And super fun when we learn to work it to our benefit!
