Exploring 7 Favorite Manifesting Teachers
Who are the teachers who have most inspired you to engage your manifesting powers?
I consulted with fellow creators to compile this list of top manifesting influencers for engaging our reality-creating skills.
Whether you’re rocking your manifesting game already or looking for new inspiration to expand it, consider a deep dive into the work of a teacher you haven’t explored yet:
Esther Hicks has channeled Abraham since the 1980s to create an impressive body of work. The material is exclusively committed to manifesting principles, and many conscious creators are familiar with this tried and true resource. (Many in the conscious creation field consider Ask And It Is Given to be the LOA bible.) Abe has been one of my personal favorite teachers since I discovered them after reading Lynn Grabhorn’s Excuse Me, Your Life Is Waiting. In fact, Abraham has inspired the work of many other teaches, speakers, authors, coaches, and counselors, including Wayne Dyer and Rhonda Byrne. You’ll find an extensive collection of video clips by Abraham-Hicks and fans alike on YouTube.
2. Neville Goddard
Neville immigrated to the United States in 1922 to work as a dancer, but left the entertainment industry to follow his interest in metaphysics after discovering books on the power of the mind. He studied the Kabbalah under the instruction of Abdullah, an Ethiopian rabbi who taught hidden symbolic meanings of biblical scripture. Neville believed the Bible was a parable informing our ability to create physical reality through imagining. He is well known for his books (The Power of Awareness was what first turned me on to Neville) as well as his lectures throughout the U.S. during the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. Neville was a strong influence on the books of Mitch Horowitz and Wayne Dyer. Much of his material is available online at FreeNeville.com.
3. Florence Scovel-Shinn
A New Thought teacher from the 1920s through the 40s, Florence was a strong advocate of the power of the word. She taught that words have a vibratory power that will attract whatever is voiced. Her first book is her most well known book, The Game of Life and How To Play It. Florence was well known for helping her students and clients find “the words that click” as they created their own personal affirmations. Louise Hay has acknowledge the influence Florence’s work has had on her personally, and I include “Flo” as a treasured member of my virtual mastermind team. 🙂
4. Seth by Jane Roberts
No list of conscious creation teachers is complete without Jane Roberts, who broke new ground by channeling Seth in 1963. She completed a series of 10 volumes known as the “Seth books,” the core message of which (I’m told, because I haven’t read it myself) is that “you create your own reality.” The Seth material is considered by many to be a spiritual classic and is credited for launching a new era of personal awareness and development. Luminaries like Marianne Williamson, Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay, Richard Bach, Shakti Gawain and Michael Talbot shared powerful testimonials of the effect this work had on their lives. You can learn more at the Seth Learning Center.
5. Mike Dooley
Beloved by many for his Notes from the Universe, Mike Dooley is a best selling author and speaker whose material focuses on the power of thoughts to become things. He was one of several teachers to appear in The Secret, and has published books, CD courses, DVDs, and card decks designed to help conscious creators make the most of their reality-creating power. I personally have saved over 1300 of Mike’s Daily Notes in my inbox!
6. Bashar by Darryl Anka
Ok, I’m the one who added Bashar to the list. And yes, Bashar (channeled by Darryl Anka starting ten years after a close encounter in 1973) covers a lot of paranormal ground (aliens!), so this work isn’t exclusively devoted to conscious creation. But the parts that are are impactful enough that I include Bashar teachings in my top five most influential guides. The essence of Bashar’s message is to “follow your highest excitement,” knowing that is a complete system in itself delivering you to dreams come true. It’s not for everyone (actually, it took a couple years before I clicked with it), but I find myself quoting him often. Darryl Anka isn’t as generous as other teachers in allowing their work to be shared free online, but there is a fan group on facebook and a collection of YouTube videos.
7. Joe Dispenza
This is a guy worth tuning into when you’re in the mood for something different in law of attraction world. Dr. Joe Dispenza is a best selling author and speaker who also appeared in The Secret (that’s where I first learned about his work). Joe takes a more scientific approach than any others on this list for creating your reality. If you don’t already know his work, I would suggest Becoming Supernatural or Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself.
